Emma beat Syria, France and Mexico to reach the pool final losing to Japan but secured Bronze beating Germany in the repechage final. First ever female World Kata medallist.

'Barking Abbey Ishinryu Karate Club'.
Here at Barking Abbey Ishinryu we teach the Ishinryu style of Karate and aim to provide the highest quality coaching for both Traditional and Sport minded Karateka.
Students are treated as individuals and everyone is encouraged to strive to achieve and reach their full potential.
So come and join one of England's most successful Karate clubs.

Barking Abbey's parent association is Ishinryu Karate Associates who's Chief Instructor is 'Ticky Donovan' O.B.E. 9th Dan. Ishinryu Karate Associates is in membership of the English Karate Federation which in turn is a member of the British, European and World Karate Federations.
Barking Abbey Ishinryu, which is one of the most successful Karate Clubs within England, is run by Sensei Jonathan Mottram 5th Dan. Sensei Mottram is also the English Karate Federation National Kata Coach and has produced and coached many English, British and International champions.
Barking Abbey Ishinryu students have enjoyed much media exposure, appearing on TV's Blue Peter and Radios Heart FM Breakfast Show with Jamie Theakston and performing at the Karate Kid Film Premier in Leicester Square amongst other events.
Barking Abbey Ishinryu Karate Club has a growing number of junior and senior students and offers a friendly and structured instruction in the art of Karate. Barking Abbey Ishinryu welcomes all levels of student both adults and children from beginners through to experienced students.
Barking Abbey Ishinryu is able to offer those students interested in sport the chance to compete nationally in the UK's most prestigious competitions and internationally in WKF recognised tournaments.
